Can I host multiple domains on a Remarkable Hosting Account?

No. Please look at the WEBppliance Private Server if you require Virtual Hosting abilities.

Who is responsible for keeping security patches up to date for the Private Servers and pre-installed software?

Remarkable Hosting will make all patches and install them when they are available and tested in our lab. We will notify you in advance before patches are applied with information on the changes.

Do you backup up the servers, how often?

We do weekly FULL and daily incremental backups to a NAS device. Backups are for disaster recovery only. We suggest using the site backup feature in your control panel for regular site backups.

How can I send mail? Do you offer SMTP?

We offer SMTP Authentication to send mail, however many ISPs block port 25 which is used to send mail. If your ISP blocks SMTP, you will need to use the outgoing mail server offered by your ISP.

Do you offer 'raw log access'?

Yes. You can download your logs from /var/log/httpd from your site.

What is the difference between a name based site and an IP based site?

With the new hosting technology a name based site is every bit as powerful as an IP based site. All Email/FTP/SSH/WEB features are identical with the only exception being SSL Support. If you expect to have a requirement for SSL then an IP based site would be required. Remarkable Hosting can easily upgrade your plan to an IP based site without the need to migrate your files.
